Life is often an indescribable and inexplicable journey. Despite our best plans and intentions, it takes us in directions we cannot anticipate and for which we are often ill-prepared. We wander paths of varying lengths and treachery encountering new challenges, surprises and wonders. The end of each path presents a new fork in the road, and eventually it becomes impossible to retrace our steps.
This can be challenging and frustrating as it seems natural to question the origins of life's circumstances. But given that so much of what happens to us and around us on a daily basis may be entirely beyond our control, it often proves to be futile to worry about how you've arrived at a particular point. Rather, simply being proud that you've traversed the course to arrive at the moment you're at may be a more effective means of deriving satisfaction from your journey.
So in my moment of zen, I realized that what truly matters is not how we reach a particular moment in life but how we live and experience that moment to the fullest. No longer do I plan to concern myself with "how did I get here?" Instead, I'm just going to enjoy each moment that I am here.

I whole-heartedly concur. Have you seen my necklace that reads "Life is a journey, not a destination"? I bought it the day after something beyond my control happened and, feeling utterly helpless, decided in that moment this was how I needed to live my life. One step at a time in this great journey of life...there is no end, only infinite possibility. Remind me to tell you this story...
