Brilliant!

I just finished watching the first Twilight "film" - and no that is not something I'm proud to admit. While the movie really does not merit a formal, or informal, review of any kind, there was one tertiary (too far removed from anything relevant to the plot to be considered secondary) detail that I found absolutely, mind-blowingly brilliant...

At the prom there was a second dance floor outside reserved just for slow dances. That's amazing! Really, this is perhaps the greatest idea ever had in the history of awkward social gatherings! My sister just informed me that this idea actually originated in A Cinderella Story or something like that, but I don't know what that is and I don't think that anyone else does, so I'm going to continue giving credit to Twilight.

But seriously, this is should a part of every prom. There are lots of couples at proms who are just friends, and separate dance floors removes the potential for an uncomfortable slow dance for those couples who seek to avoid it. Meanwhile, couples who are in the mood for some good cheek-grasping can make their way outside to sway under the moonlight. And best of all, the second dance floor gives the many, many young men who sheepishly ask girls they've been in love with for nearly four years to be their dates, just as friends of course, the opportunity to blow yet another opportunity to let their dates know how they feel.

Seriously, I don't think there has been a better idea in the history of thought. It's simply brilliant!
