past due

Ok, so I have done a ridiculously awful job maintaining my blog. As much as I enjoy writing, I fail to set aside time to use this format. I've grown quite fond of twitter (@jphenr) for posting quick thoughts and for recording a reactionary stream-of-consciousness to whatever it is I'm doing or watching at the time. I try to fancy myself a social commentator, but I believe that my efforts to do so also seem to contribute to my own negligence. I never wanted nor now desire for my blog to become an online diary of my daily life - honestly my life is not interesting enough to support that. I now see that I strayed too far away from my own personal life, wrote too much as an essayist and not a blogger. While I do believe I composed a few very articulate pieces of which I am enormously proud, I was not able to maintain consistency or address a respectable fraction of the topical subjects of interest to me.

So in order to rectify the situation - by the way, I can't use, read or hear this word without laughing since the Jersey Shore began - I plan to approach my blog entries less scholarly and write more about what I'm feeling/experiencing at the given moment. Life is hard to predict and can easily be taken for granted, which is one of the many reasons why it's so interesting, and it's time I take a more active interest in mine.
